SNU Dentistry
Seoul National University's Graduate School of Dentistry, which began in 1922 with the establishment of Gyeongseong Dental School, has been the first dental education institution in Korea for more than 90 years and has played a pivotal role and mission in the development of dentistry.
Seoul National University's Graduate School of Dentistry focuses on creating an environment where students can study and treat themselves through close communication between professors and students and reorganize their curriculum.
Seoul National University's Graduate School of Dentistry has a total of 19 classrooms and 10 convergence majors, and is in charge of professional research and education for students in the field. By opening a convergence major between the two schools, the school is operating flexibly to break down the walls of various academic fields and to accept the theology that meets new demands.
Seoul National University's Graduate School of Dentistry is divided into specialized graduate schools that train dentists and academic graduate schools that conduct dentistry research.
1922년 경성치과의학교의 설립으로 시작된 서울대학교 치의학대학원은 90여년을 지내오며 대한민국 최초 치의학 교육기관으로서 국내 치의학 발전의 중추적인 역할과 사명을 다해오고 있다.
서울대학교 치의학대학원은 치의학에 관한 기본적인 연구와 진료 능력 및 사회에 대한 봉사정신과 사명감을 갖춘 인력을 양성하기 위해 교수와 학생들 간의 긴밀한 대화와 교수의 직접 지도를 바탕으로 실정에 맞는 학제와 교과과정 개편 등을 통해 학생들 스스로 연구하고 진료할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 데에 중점을 두고 있다.
서울대학교 치의학대학원에는 총 19개의 교실과 10개의 융합전공이 있으며 해당분야의 전문적인 연구 및 학생을 위한 교육을 담당하고 있다. 학제간 융합전공을 개설하여 다양한 학문분야간의 벽을 허물고 새로운 요구에 부응하는 신학문을 받아들이기 위해 탄력적인 운영을 하고 있다.
서울대학교 치의학대학원은 치과의사를 양성하는 전문대학원과 치의학 연구를 하는 학술대학원으로 구분 되어 진다.
Purpose of Establishment
Seoul National University's Graduate School of Dentistry aims to contribute to human society through education, dentistry and related studies, and volunteer work to prevent and treat human diseases, basic research on dentistry, medical skills, and community. A person who has completed education shall have the following abilities:
- Have basic knowledge and skills to diagnose, treat and prevent oral diseases.
- Have the ability to understand basic science related to dentistry and to apply these knowledge to clinical problem solving.
- It has the ability to properly identify and solve public oral health problems in the local community.
- Have the ability to conduct creative research in dentistry and related studies.
- After graduation, they have the ability to understand dentistry that develops through continuous education and to develop themselves
- They have a sense of duty as a dentist, responsibility, and ethics.
서울대학교 치의학대학원은 치과의사 및 치의학자를 양성하는 교육과 치의학 및 그와 관련된 학문의 연구, 그리고 악구강계와 그와 관련된 인체의 질병을 예방하고 치료하는 봉사활동을 통하여 인류사회에 기여하고, 치의학에 관한 기본적 연구와 진료능력 및 사회에 대한 봉사정신과 사명감을 갖춘 치과의사를 양성함을 그 설립목적으로 한다. 교육을 이수한 자는 다음과 같은 능력을 갖추어야 한다.
- 구강질환을 진단, 치료 및 예방할 수 있는 기본적 지식과 기술을 갖는다.
- 치의학과 관련된 기초과학을 이해하고 이들 지식을 임상적 문제 해결에 응용할 수 있는 능력을 갖는다.
- 지역사회의 공중구강보건문제를 올바르게 파악하고, 이를 해결할 수 있는 능력을 갖는다.
- 치의학 및 그와 관련된 학문의 창의적인 연구를 수행할 수 있는 능력을 갖는다.
- 졸업 후 계속교육을 통하여 발전하는 치의학을 이해하고 자기개발을 할 수 있는 능력을 갖는다.
- 치과의사로서의 사명감, 책임감 및 윤리의식 등 폭넓은 인간성을 갖는다.
Education Objectives
